These halls have a notably bright appearance for a Halloween Location, but it is contrasted with darker shades on the walls and furniture. The scene is adorned with many of the decorations from Jack's castle and the other Halloween Locations. Autumn leaves, stones and Halloween props are seen to be floating from the energy created by the gateway. Upon entering the location, the player is standing behind a dining table. As Salem has become the Queen of the Night after the events of the Halls of Samhain, she was able to sense that something is amiss about the proposition of death. Salem, reunited with Jack and the player team up to save their friends. An unknown letter has been sent to call a few of the player's friends to the Hall, so that they may meet the Smiling Lady-death herself.
Due to the City of Shadows taking place apart from real-world time (presumably due to the antics of the Laboratory), some of the population has lived longer than they would have otherwise. In particular, the records pertain to the well being of the residents. The Hall of Departure is a chamber where records of the citizens of the City are held.
